Michael Ficarra founder of EFAR - Unbind Your Mind, more than a message, a social movement.
When I was six years old my grandmother referred to a man in my neighborhood as a ni**er. I did not know what that meant at the time but I immediately felt as though that made him different than me. The word itself felt sinister and brought with it an unexplainable fear of what I did not comprehend. Years later, when I came to understand the connotation of the word I felt ashamed and embarrassed that someone in my family held such ignorant views of other human beings. I did not know it then but that is when the seed of my intolerance towards ignorance was planted.
When I began the EFAR movement my focus was on educating youth on racial issues using an aggressive message, a message that is powerful and unmistakably positive. I use the acronym EF (F) AR (R) to represent F.U.C.K (Find Unity Capture Knowledge) Racism. Since then the racial landscape has evolved from just race to encompass all intolerances based on race, sexual orientation and economic status, as well as calling attention to bullying of all kinds.
Todays youth faces the challenge of sifting through information that is readily presented as truth, the pressures of keeping up with the latest technology and navigating social media. Though we live in a world of instant information, without critical thinking and guidance it is easy to be led down the wrong paths.

Mission
Michael Ficarra has made it his mission to help fight social bigotry on it’s many fronts, working with educators, athletes, organizations and individuals that understand that there is an epidemic plaguing todays world that is antiquated and reproachable in modern society. Through his lectures Ficarra has brought these issues to the forefront of many people from all ages, races and walks of life. Creating individual lectures that appeal to students, team building for business’s, after school programs and rally’s. Using his unique line of apparel to help spread awareness and keep his message on the minds and eyes of the world. Ficarra has started nothing less than a revolution, one that is focused on stripping away the layers of old ways of thinking and opening up the conversation for change. It is time to Unbind Your Mind.
